Fiber Trends Spirit of the Southwest Shawl Knitting Pattern Listed NOW are Several Fiber Trends patterns. Spirit of the SouthWest Shawl is one of them. This shawl is just lovely with it's southwestern feel and appearance. Inside and edging of squash blossoms, butterflies flutter in the sunlight above mountains, rows of corn and a river where nearby rabbit lay in the grass. Knit in garter stitch lace from the center back neck down, the side edges are bound off in the lace edging, and the top is finished with I cord. Blocked size approx 43" deep and 90" across top. For a smaller shawl, go down a needle size for a slightly tighter gauge. Yarn and Yardage Used: approx 1200 yeard of lace weight yarn. Used Zepher from Jaggerspun. Needles: Needles will be size 6 circular @ 29" or 32" one set dpn in same size. Gauge: Unblocked gauge: 20sts to 4" Blocked Gauge: 16 sts to 4 " Pattern comes in a protective sleeve.
